Referral links for automation triggers
You can launch the same automation using multiple referral links and track the sources of traffic. This feature enables end-to-end analytics — for example, you can pass UTM tags to a payment page or other destinations.
For any automation in Telegram or Instagram, you can create a unique referral link. The automation will start immediately after the link is clicked — no additional trigger is required. You can generate several links for one automation and place them across different platforms to track performance for each traffic source individually.
Go to the Growth tools section
Select Referral links
Click “New link”
Setting up the link:
Enter a name that identifies the traffic source
Select the automation to be launched by the link
Create a URL using Latin letters and numbers
(Optional) Add a tag or set a variable value for users who click the link
Once the link is created, you can copy it or view the list of users who clicked it.
Note for Instagram users: When a user clicks a referral link, the automation will only trigger if a conversation window is open between them and your Instagram account (i.e., within the 24-hour messaging window).
If there’s no open chat, the user must first take any action in Direct (e.g., send a message, emoji, or tap a welcome button). Only then will the automation launch.
How to view analytics
Each referral link has a Clients tab where you can see the users who clicked the link and triggered the automation. Here, you’ll see:
Name
Social media username
Source link
Date of click
