The timeframe for interacting with users in Direct.

Instagram has a "24-hour messaging rule" to prevent spam. This rule means you can only message users within 24 hours after they interact with you in specific ways.

These interactions include:
- Sending you a message directly.
- Reacting or replying to your Stories.
- Mentioning you in their Stories.
- Clicking action buttons or quick replies in automated messages (Note: clicking link buttons doesn't count).

Comments on posts and live stream interactions don't start the 24-hour period. If you respond to a comment with an automated message, Instagram allows only one message. To send more, begin your automation with an action button.

When users tap this button, it starts the 24-hour period, letting you send the full automated conversation.

Within 24 hours of a user's last activity in your DMs, you can send them both automated and manual messages. You can also do bulk sends to everyone who has interacted with you, opening their messaging period.
