If you see several players with the same username in the leaderboard, this means the user changed their Telegram username after the game started.
When the username changes, Telegram treats the user as a new participant. Their previous leaderboard entry will no longer receive points — all future actions and points will be recorded under the new username.
What you need to do in these cases? You must identify which of the duplicated entries is currently active (i.e., which one continues to receive points). After identifying the active one, you can manually transfer the player’s previously earned points to their new profile.
How to manually add points:
Open the Gamification section.
Click the “...” next to the active game.
Select “Change scores”.
A window will open:
Enter the player’s new username
Enter the number of points you want to assign
After that, you may want to block the inactive leaderboard entry so it no longer appears. To block it:
Use the old username (ask the player if needed)
Block this username in the game settings
We strongly recommend informing players, either at the start of the game or in the game rules, not to change their Telegram username during the game. This helps prevent duplicates and ensures correct point tracking.
