How it works
ChatPlace allows you to import an existing client base from a Telegram bot. This is useful when you are migrating a bot from another service, or you are moving a bot from one ChatPlace project to another.
This ensures that your contacts are preserved, and you can immediately message them, send broadcasts, and run automations.
Before disconnecting the bot from its previous platform, you must export the list of user IDs — this preserves your full client base. If you already have a file containing the Telegram user IDs, connect your Telegram bot to ChatPlace and import your contacts!
Once you confirm that contacts have been added, you may disconnect the bot from the previous service (if not done already)
Important requirements
✔ You can import only subscribers of your Telegram bot.
✔ You cannot import third-party or purchased databases — the system validates all data with Telegram.
✔ Only active users will be imported:
those who previously interacted with the bot
those who have not blocked the bot
How to import contacts
1. Go to settings
Open Settings → Contacts
Click Telegram Contact Import
2. Configure the import
In the popup window:
Select the connected Telegram bot
Choose tags to assign to all imported clients (e.g., “old clients”)
Upload a file containing user IDs in CSV or TXT format, up to 5 MB
⚡ Tip: Download the sample file to prepare your table correctly.
3. Configure the import
Click Import Contacts
The system will begin validating each ID and adding all eligible clients. You can track import progress in the Action History.
What happens next
After the import is complete:
You will be able to send them broadcasts, launch automations, and continue working with them as with any other subscribers
