This guide will teach you how to create automations for Instagram and Telegram, and also show you how to launch an automation that you’ve set up.
In ChatPlace, there are 3 ways to create automations:
Create from scratch – You build the full flow yourself, step by step.
Using a ready-made template – Choose a template, edit the message text and attachments, and it’s ready to go
Create with AI – Just describe what the automation should do, and the AI will build the flow for you.

Let’s go through each option one by one:
How to create an automation from scratch
Go to the Automations section
In the top-left corner, click the “Create” button
In the pop-up window, select “From scratch” and click “Next”
Enter the name of your new automation
Select the account from your connected accounts list
Click “Create”
That’s it! The automation has been created — now you can start setting it up. Write the automation flow, then choose a trigger and make sure the automation is turned on.
How to use a ready-made template
The templates are universal — they work for both Instagram and Telegram. However, some templates are better suited for one platform.
Note: When you use a ready-made template, it’s automatically turned on. You only need to set a trigger, and it will be ready to go.
Go to the Automations section
In the top-left corner, click “Choose Template”
Browse the template library, pick the one that suits you and click “Select”
In the next window, choose an account and click “Add Template”
Done! The template is added to your account. You just need to edit it and set a trigger.
All templates are universal and can be used on both Instagram and Telegram. However, some templates are initially built for a specific platform. For convenience, templates are marked accordingly.
Keep in mind: not all templates are available on the free plan. Some templates require Gamification or ChatPlace AI (these are part of the paid Pro plan), because they include special logic blocks and actions.
Templates that are only available on paid plans are marked with a “Pro” label.
How to create an automation using AI
Go to the Automations section
In the top-left corner, click “Create with AI”
In the pop-up window, enter the name of your automation
Choose the account from the list
Click “Create”
Write a prompt for the AI — include details about what your automation should do and what goal it should achieve
Click “Generate Automation”
Done! In a few seconds, the automation will be ready. You can review the flow and make edits if needed.
How to set up a trigger to launch your automation
Once the flow is ready, you need to set a trigger — something that will start the automation.
You can configure the trigger in the top-right corner of the automation builder:
You can also launch automations using a link. In that case, you don’t need to set a trigger inside the builder.

Go to the Automations section
Find the automation you want — if it’s active, there will be a green indicator next to its name
If it’s turned off — click the three dots (…) in the top-right corner of the automation card
Use the toggle switch to turn it on
